Hey all, It seems like painting one model at the time, although very unlike me, is proving to be quite efficient for me ! With some of the mercenaries from the first Trench Crusade kickstarter on the table, I moved onto the next one that fet fun and picked the Observer.
I like how this one feels odd in the setting (and that's saying quite a lot in such a universe). Also very unlike what I usually do, I tried to evoke as much of the original art in this one, as a sort of exercise and because quite frankly, the riginal art is just too good.
You could argue my armour is a little yellower than the original and you would be right but I feel like its good enough !
This was the occasion to try really different processes than I usually do and even some pots I rarely take out and all with very little effort since most of the results were achieved with foam and washes.
I only have a couple more mercenaries left before moving onto the Heretic legion now and I should probably start kitbashing unless the lack of orctober painting catches up with me and I make a pause with green skins !
I love how this is all going for now so I'm going with the flow really, some terrain ideas are slowly getting to the surface so we'll see how that pans out!
I'm in love with that mini and with your paintjob. I think it can be used in quite a number of ambientations, and that's just so cool.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this one's a bit different almost like it's a time traveller or something, I like that a lot and yes, you could imaine it in plenty of other settings !
DeleteI am getting increasingly curious about Trench Crusade and loving watching your progress with these models. The paintwork is superlative of course as always!
ReplyDeleteHey there ! Nice reading you ! I've really found something new in this setting that balances the more tongue in cheek stuff I might do otherwise, my old metalhead core feels at home !
