Alright everyone, now amongst this very unexpected but enjoyable chaotic derailing of my painting queue, there has been an unexpected but enjoyable disturbance (it wouldn't be fun otherwise).
My friends Grove and Crooks were just posting awesome WIP pics of chaos champions up to the post where the urge to build myself one was unbearable.

Pimple my ride - Nurgle Palanquin for Rogue Trader
Hi there, I'm in the final steps of my tale of several gamers so still trying to finish as much as I can for my Chaos renegades. I've only realized last month I haven't painted a single character in this challenge and thought I could use some leadership. Now of course I couldn't settle on something simple could I ?
And that's how I remembered I had this Nurgle Palanquin with no less than 3 potential riders, all fitted with Magnets !
Best part of which being one is pretty neutral and could be your regular undivided chaos lord.
Since I didn't have enough corks to put the riders on, I had the best idea in the world (aka worst idea ever, don't do this at home) and pinned all three on the same cork !

Lady Woodgin - Slaanesh Cult Dominatrix
Hey, you might remember the six sinners from earlier, well; I've been meaning to upgrade the team from quite some time now but was looking at how to do it right. The arrival of the new Necromunda was the right trigger for this for 2 reasons :
- The magnificent Escher models in the box- The upcoming chaos cult list in WD.
Oh yes, chaos cults in the underhive, that's how groovy it's going to get.

The sword of echoes - Undead champion of chaos
Quick one today with a model painted for a friend as a token of gratitude for his continued excellence and kindness. I've meant to paint him a little something for a while but never could find what to do until he just sent me tis guy along another that should get painted soon enough... ^^

The Six Sinners - Grimdark Slaanesh cult
What a pleasure ! What a pleasure it is to get a project done. A couple of months ago, I was playing with a bunch of old Slaanesh champions from Jes Goodwin and I ended up with a bunch of converted cultists which would very well fit with the first guy I had done in December.

Back to basics - Hacking old lead like in the old days.
If you've ever read the little text at the top of his page, you might have guessed I'm a bit of a Jes Goodwin fan like many. Now the thing is, I started my journey into the hobby by buying chaos champions and warriors of his in 91 and although I did paint the first 2 as they were (with thick coats of enamels), I quickly tried to do my own conversions, inspired by the magnificent exemples in the books and magazines.

Nofore Pleh - Slaanesh cultist in the grim darkness of a far future
So this year, the WIPsters have come up with the fabulous idea of doing a secret Santa. Every does that I know but since the group is relatively small, there was a good chance we'd get a decent present under the Christmas tree at least !

GORECHOSEN : Willy Gutshagger
Long time no see huh ? Well I've been in holidays for a while now and this is still a model I painted before leaving but since I'm getting access to a computer, I thought I could post a little something !
This guy is part of an ongoing challenge with my fellow WIPsters on Scale Creep and I was meant to select an oldschool chaos model to make myself a character to play in the upcoming game GORECHOSEN by GW.
The idea of playing with small lumps of lead against titans of plastic was just enough to motivate me even if the word CHAOS is generally sufficient for me.

Warpriest of Law - Champions of Law season 2
A bit more champions of law today but this one has a little something special !
I've been in contact with Gretchin from Greenstuff Gretchin recently and we've been sharing common interests and ideas for future projects. You might remember she and Axiom did a joint project about an astropath and she's proposed me to convert a champion of Law !
Given how talented she is, I was obviously thrilled !

HE IS THE LAW ! - Champions of Law Season 2
As always, the champions of Law are my happy modelling place and though I'm not working as quickly on this 2nd seasonas with the previous one, I have many ideas of things that motivate me.
Amongst many ideas suggested to me, there was one whih always was a bit obvious : the link with Judge Dredd.
Just what other character apart from Dredd can you think of as an embodiment of Law it self ?

Champions of Law season 2 - The titan of Solkan
Alright people, now I hope you're not tired of the champions of Law because I've decided to start the new season of the show !
I've been able to come up with a solid group that enabled me to play warband based games like Mordheim and Frostgrave. Now I've loved painting this group and I have loved playing with them too. There's still plenty of ideas I had that haven't seen the light of day though so I thought after a break I could start a new season of their story and see where this leads.

Pantheon of Chaos - It's SO ON !
Every now and then comes a project that leaves my panties wet, today's in one of those : PANTHEON OF CHAOS.
Go check the champions, warriors, demons and monsters available !
I've managed to grab an early bird pledge that should give me a lot of opportunities since chaos has always been my favorite faction of the GW lore.
Go check the link above and support this project developed by true enthusiasts and very talented people.

Wizard apprentice of Law !
WOW ! I've rarely managed to do that but I actually DID finish a model from the bginning to the end in one single session !
I've been thinking about what model to use as an apprentice for my champions of Law in games of Mordheim lately and no model seemed to fit. Then I remembered I had got this Imperial wizard for 1€ amongst other models in a trade (couldn't miss such a model for that price really !) and thought he'd be perfect !
The model was (very poorly if you look at the mouldline running acorss his left arm) prepared and primed so that yesterday night, all I had to do was sit and paint !

Fresh blood and a tutorial for the champions of Law !
So here we have 3 more members for my warband of champions of Law ! Since I've been painting those for some time now, I'm thinking about making a break to avoid making this a habit or something tiring and since I'm making a pause I thought I'd do a little tutorial on how I paint them. Make no mistake, they're not up to high standards or anything and I intended them to be speed paints from the start but I find the recipes I used served the purpose of having a nice warband rapidly so why not share ?

Champions of Law : Lord Aquila and elf
Another sunday past and some more reinforcements for my Realm of Law warband ! (greatly helped by me beeing sick and staying at home all WE...)
I'm adding 2 new members for the warband and this time I think the style evolves a bit. they are not chaotic as some of the others but both of them have been sculpted by the talented Jes Goodwin.
First on the left is Lord Aquila from the Heroic fighters of known world set :

Champions of Law - covered and naked dementia
After the 2 previous champions of Law I painted, I thought I could paint 2 in a row this time... well without a surprise it took me a little longer which means I couldn't get them all done on Sunday as usual...
In the last post about this warband, Two esteemed painting buddies, namely Jon/Axiom and Nico both suggested the same miniature to join this warband. Honestly, who am I to oppose such talented guys and clearly men of taste who pick one of the nice Jes Goodwin chaos warriors ? Good thing is I had the model so it was just a matter of getting it on a hex base really.

The Realm Of Chaos warband Challenge - Start
Over the oldhammer forum, there has been a challenge launched to build Warbands in the most oldschool fashion. The idea was simple, each contestant rolls a warband and gives it to the Challenge Master who randomly assigns them between all players.
You may have already seen Erny's warband start so I felt like showing you how I'm going to do this :
Warband 7 – Asslessman
Champion of Slaanesh:
Human 10 Wizard (rolled 71, upgraded him to lv10 for survivability)
Gift: Willpower increase (Slaanesh). Second gift to be decided upon by painter.
Trait: Short legs (first rolled silly voice, then short legs - decided short legs was funnier from a modeling point of view)
Trait: Spits acid
Retinue:
• 3 Dark Elf (light armour, hand weapon, crossbow)
• 12 Chaos Cultists (handweapon, shield, no physical attributes)
• 2 Minotaurs (fudged. Rolled 4 orcs - didn't feel very Slaaneshi, so rerolled and got 2 minotaurs. Perfect!)
From what's above you can see that Mr Phreedh (who rolled my band) felt no remorse from rolling a huge band to be done in a month and a hal...
SO... Starting with the leader of the unit, we have
- a Slaanesh evil wizard
- short legs and silly voice
- spits acid
For the short legs part, I knew I just had to reduce a normal pair of legs to get it so I started using plastic zombie parts. Having short legs felt creepy so I enhanced this trait by giving a bent position, almost crooked, to the model.
Then I started looking for a head and I met this part which had been lying in my bits box for quite some time :

Unleash the 3 beasts - Battle chaos part 30
Ok, back on our khorne champions :
We have 3 bestial champions now, all of which having bestial attributes.
First one has a warhound face and what appears to be a vampire blade. I really love how the sword ends broadly to make it good for chopping and not for piercing.
This model proved to be one of the most enjoyable to paint in the series because of its very good sculpt and very crisp casting.
I had to change the colour of the fur during he painting process becuse brown fur didn't suit him at all. I opted for an albinos fur which gives him individuality and colour-wise works far much better.

Juggernaut, lack of personnality and some green teaser - Battle Chaos Part 28
Today's champion is the Juggernaut. He has the head of a juggernaut and hence has the most fearsome headbutts you can find in the wastes. I imagine his axe is merely here to chop cadavers and bring the skulls back to Khorne's throne. Even is mace tail sweats blunt force.
I really like the fact he shares his whole body woith Mr Bloodletter head from my previous post and though gives a totally different feeling.
Still not much on funky painting or markings, he is one of the champions I purposedly left with little marking to have a "clear" unit, while some other models get more attention and colours (an dare yet to be seen as you've understood).

(Com)Passion and Warfare - Battle Chaos Part 27
Howdy guys,
Compassion and warfare it is today. Warfare, you know about it, the idea is very simple : shoot/kick/punch/stab the other guy(s) in front for whatever reason you can find. And when it gets to this, you want the best. In the warhammer multiverse, the best you can get is khorne worshippers, simply because that's their job, hobby, and when they get home, they even get some more because battlefields are their home.
I suggest you hire this guy if you have some warfare around (for over situations, maybe you can hire the A-team). This one packs both fantasy and sci-fi goodness with a demonic face and a scorpion tail just so that you know he's not here for the tea. The guy even has the severed skull of his first date hanging form his belt.
I love his bluntness, and his "you're next" attitude. Both weapons are in the air just like if he's asking to himself with which one to slay you (realising he can slay you with both at the same time for added fun).
At the end of the day, when you sit in your couch with a cup of tea, a newspaper and you chat with your wife, this guy takes a big bag and takes all the skulls he can to Khorne's throne, whistling and shooting people in the face.
