Astropolis Robots

You probably know how some projects have the ability to jump to the top of the queue in the most unexpectedly way ? Well that happened during lockdown when looking for an astropolis fleet officer, I realised I had all those little robots who could be done in little time and boost my mojo.

They all come from the first 2 Astropolis kickstarters so I've just mixed them how I felt but painted them all the exact same way. They're all very fun sculpts with a strong Starwars feel, they're sculpted by Igor Karpov who sculpted a lot of the LAM ranges and they're absolutely great and fun to paint too. As I love to have NPC's around my tables, these will be perfect for some of the games I have in mind.

Like always, all I need to field them is in the Bible :

First group is a small aux bot, a technical support and a landing party

Next are a couple of R2D2 ish aux bots

Some lazy variants :

And a couple of libraribots which will be perfect for one of the great plans I have for the future (more about that later)

I should point I'm glad to finally have a few of these 2 kickstarter models painted because LAM handled both crowdfundings in the best and most professional way so anyone delivering perfect models so fast and with extras should be praised.

So that's another 9 in the bank and a lot of mojo for the coming projects (and I need a lot with this heat).
Hope you folks handle the temperature well and your brushes don't dry too soon !

  1. These are great! I think the libraribots are the most fun, but the R2-D2 types are just the cutest! Of course these now need the dusty corridors of some vast Administratum building to scurry through, right? ;)

I LOVE those orange-red stripes some of them are sporting. Lovely!

    1. Next step is probably a horde of administratum agents to boss around and yes, dusty corridors and shelves would be so much fun :D

  2. Gorgeous little bots – love the book-carrying ones in particular; really nice juxtaposition of tech and tradition. The paint scheme really brings that out, suggesting a lovely practicality.

  5. These look terrific. Did you get the rest of Kickstarter 2? How did you fit them into the 40k universe stat wise?

    1. C'est un projet assez ambitieux qui va me prendre du temps et de l'énergie mais qui peut être vraiment gratifiant, ça impliquera pas mal de décors et de PNJ mais j'aime çà ^^

  11. Lovely guys! They have their own charm. I have my whole Astropolis set still to be done, your work may help to precisely climb some positions up in the queue. Oh my, it's just as you say, these things happen!

    1. I bet you could knock plenty of these in no time to great results, I think I could have the furry aliens done fast enough too, that's going to be my next mojo boost trump card !

    1. Thanks, it was just a matter of choosing a small palete to make these super fast and rewarding but I bet they'd look great with more individuality and care !

  14. Now they are very nice! The rusty look has come out very nicely. Some of them, the librabots in particular, put me in mind of the 'Storybots' programmes my daughter watches!
