Shadow wars Scenery : Part 2

Quick one today, just wanted to show some close shots of the scenery I painted for my games of Shadow wars and other skirmish games.

The main part was painting the pillars, walkways and platforms as well as all the little details that fit underneath.

Given the very limited time (one day) I had to paint those, I opted for speed painting techniques.

All parts were primed black then zenithal sprayed with lead belcher. This creates a preshading which is very convenient.

Even the platforms were painted sprayed sideways to keep the recesses darker.

I painted a few details were painted but not all (it would take too much time and would look too dumb imho).

The next phase was to shade all those parts with Agrax earthshade and spots of Nuln oil here and there to create nuances.

Then, I added orange, blue and sepia washes in random spots and mixed them in some places with water to blend them and avoid the metals too look too dul.

Throw a leadbelcher drybrush after this and you get this result :

The platforms and their fences were painted the same way with a dark red as a base in the inner areas.
The last thing I added was a series of very thinned Skrag brown (I really mean VERY thinned) which was thrown in places where rust would mostly build up.
This makes a great rust effect without having to get the pigments out.

All in all, It worked very well and I managed to finish everything in time (at midnight though) for the day after !
