YUP... Yearly review, we've reached that time ! It's honestly a good way for me to keep track of what I've done or should have done or just plan what I want to do next ! But since you're all so eager to read what I have to say I won't let you wait any longer.
What I have painted this year :
Models painted : 186
That's a 11% increase in my output which is less than the previous years but I still get stuff done so that's all that matters to me really ! (I'll have to address that counting issue some day though...)
The painting output has been varied this year like the previous before with models from all sorts of range and for al sorts of games. I think variety is the key to keep the mojo up !
Probably my most unexpected but rewarding band of the year ! |
What I have played this year :
- I've played Mordheim again and I still love it !
- I've played some Inquisimunda/Necromunda/Shadow wars and well, I'm still fond of this kind of games.
- I've finally played some Space Fleet again after all the years !
- I've tried Shadespire and bought the game, just need to finish a second team to get some games with friends now ^^
- Still no Video games. Nothing. Rien.
- Haven't played much board games this year apart from the usual ones.
- A new Mordheim campaign with increased roleplaying which made the games even more enjoyable.
- Went to a wondeful gaming convention in Metz to play some Shadow Wars (HERE and HERE) as well as a crazy game of Warhammer on a BB pitch DMed by Nico !
- I got a game of Inquisimunda with the brushmaster Martin Grandbarbe as well !
- The crowning event of this gaming year was of course BOYL (the best edition for me so far) which as usual was introduced by a nice Shadow wars campaign with my loveable WIPsters !
Once again I can be pleased by the really great games I had with such wonderful people !
Impromptu RT game at BOYL with the nicest folks around ! |
That's 20 games all in all which isn't that bad I'd say considering where I'm coming from ! ^^
The games are still very isolated and limited to special events but I actually like it that way. Gives me time to focus and be ready.

Personnal side :
- I still haven't moved home this year, awesome, but I kind want to now...
- Kendo has been kind hard to practice regularly this past year and it might be even harder this year but it still remains a huge pleasure for me.
Blogging and life on the net :
It seems my blogging keeps steady with 70 posts this year instead, guess that's just my rythm although there was a month long hyatus this year. Like the years before, blogging really helps me to focus and keep track of what I want to do insted of losing myself in a wirlwind of unfinished projects.
I still value the feedback I get from it so thanks for that !

Collecting :
Now here's the fun part, apart from a a couple of boxed games and a few models, my puchases have been kept to scenery and tools but I didn't buy many models this years. I did manage to get a few gems painted and that satisfies me way more than just getting them !
Projects :
What could be my goals this year ?
- Painting more renegades. I've said it the last 2 years but this time I've actually planned it so should have stuff done in a few months, the aim is to dedicate half of my monthly output to that so there should be stuff done eventually !
- Necromunda is back and icking so I'll have to paint a nice gang for it. The theme and models are selected, I just need to find the right schedule but I have a bit of time ahead to make things right...
- I really want to finish my Champions of Law for Dragon Rampant and the number of models to paint for that is not that great so this is a promise before you all !
- There's plenty of scenery I'm midway from finishing and have postponed because of self imposed obligations but these will undoubtedly be done in a few months (for a gaming event). I'm really eager to have enough to fill a whole table or more !
- As usual, I'll overcommit in group projects but that's just the way I like things. There little point in not making this a shared experience the way I see it !
What do I want for 2018 ? Well a bit of the same and some more ! The personal side will be the more demanding but the hobby side will still be there to help things look fine !
All I can wish apart from that is that YOU ALL have the nicest year possible !
