Hey everyone ! Following the band of Arabians I painted earlier this year, Here is a band of pirates from Lafig Miniatures and their upcoming game. Thes have been sculpted by Alessio Cisbani and hey're a great bunch of everything you expect from pirates.
Most of the crew memebers come with seperate hands so you can esily pick hich type of equipment you ant, I went with the rule of cool though.
There are a few more models in the band which I haven't painted yet but for the time being you'll get a good idea of the whole from these.
The captain has a nice officer vest he either "borrowed" or kept from his former position so I gave it a nice red colour to look cool. I love the contrast ith his lousy trousers and bandana.
The cannoner (cannoness ?) is a very seet model, I love how she definitely has the bulk to hold a small cannon but still has some elegance to her and she's definitely in a leading position more often than not.
I don't know what the roles for each model are for now but I can definitely imagine this old guy having seen quite a few fantastic things most won't believe. It's the little details like the mandatory peg leg and fishbone spearhead that do it for me.
I love that the band includes a more delicate yet undoubtedly lethal member, and you can tell the rats on board aren't the biggest threat !
The band obviously needed a treacherous drunkard and the fac on this one is excellent and such fun to play with.
My favourite of the whole band has got to be the ogre Buccaneer , something in the pose, all the little details like the crab on his shoulder, the turtle shell and all, to me he really hs everything to become a classic.
I couldn't resist painting it red like Wilson, an iconic character my friends and I came up with (check out his story HERE)
Like my friend Axiom, I really love to see size variations within a band so having a little monkey as part of the band is just theright kind of stuff I want to see.
The band obviously needs plenty of people for the action
And here's the full band, I can only encourage you to back this great project and wonderful miniatures in the kickstarter HERE.

DeleteArrr, they look excellent, mate! I find the minis enjoyable, and your palette brought them all along as a crew. Really sweet job!
ReplyDeleteThanks mec, they were a real joy to paint !
DeleteWhat a fantastic crew! Full of character, and painted to your usual high standards.
ReplyDeleteBill.
Thanks ! High standard is definitely not my usual but the fun I have painting sometimes shows through the paintjob I hope !
DeleteI did saw them on the campaign page, you did a very cool job this time as well !
ReplyDeleteThey're fantastic sculpts really !
DeleteThese are great! I really like the skin tones. The models are very nice too: not too crazy, but definitely a band of salty sea dogs.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I had fun on those skin tones, especially on the ogre who has plenty of room to play with
