Hey there, quick one today ! My recent Stargrave campaign has hugely motivated me to get some more terrain and critters painted and since its spring I'm also trying to clear the desk from all the models who've been sittig there for too long, amongst which some alien bugsi've had since I got the Stargrave rulebook..
I think having critters on the table, wether to interact or not is always fun so I got a bunch of old necromunda Ripper Jacks :
They scratch both the deep space horror itch facehuggers and Starwars Mynoks do :
I also got some 3D prints of Bug Maggots by Puppetswar, who are in a sort of similar area but a bit different. I kinda wanted to do them both in the same style and then thought it would be better to have them as two different species entirely. The pinkish markings were a late addition just when I thought they were done and looked cool in green and thought I could (for once) push things a little further to make them pop a bit. I'm actually very pleased woth the outcome so let's hope this positivie reinforcement will get me to push some things a tad further in the future !
So that's some more critters done to interfere in my adventurers' plans and it's another 10 models clearing the desk so what more to ask ? (more time, I know)
Outstanding work - and I couldn't help but give a low whistle at your cluster of Ripper Jacks - those models are not cheap to come by these days!
ReplyDeleteThanks ! I still haven't got a single Milliasaur so you know !
DeleteLove the colors on these beasts. Always good to have a few more to pull from. The bug maggots are pretty interesting models. You've definitely peeked my interest to check them out.
ReplyDeleteCheers, I love NPC's critters and all those non combatant models really, I should use them more really !
DeleteEeeeek! They give me the shivers, what a splendid bunch of unsettling creatures. The colour combo is a total win, well done!
ReplyDeleteSome creepy crawlers will do that !
DeleteExcellent additions to the collection JB. Very natural looking colours chosen on some lovely sculpts. Interested to see how they are used in-game.
ReplyDeleteThanks, they will be pretty easy to use in Stargrave with its random encounter charts, in other games, there's always a way to get them in or just have them as decoration !
