Great Orc mercenary - Happy Orctober !

Alright it's been half the month already and I'm only having an entry for orctober done now !

To be honest, after being very orc neutral for years I tend to jump on any occasion to paint some now and after being offered this fine fella by Jamies from Old school miniatures I knew he had to join my band of mercenaries, just look at the swag of him !

Now as you probably can tell, this is a great orc from Foundry Miniatures by the goblin master himself Kev Adams and it's therefore an absolute delight of a model. I have to confess getting tired of puff and slash especialy on models of this size but that's just me being a lazy cat more than anything really !

Just so you get an idea of the scale, here he is next to his ogre colleague, quite a bulky guy heh ?

Since this band is meant to be played in an fantasy skirmish game I can encounter (Mordheim, Frostgrave, warcry or whatever) I'm sure I'll manage to find a few occasions to field him every now and then, and even if I don't, he'll still be a fancy recruit promoting equal opportunities in my mercenary band !

Now of course, I probably should get a couple of dwarves for good measures right ?

  1. If I didn't know better, I'd have assumed that the ogre and the orc were from the same range, they match each other perfectly. I don't envy you having painted all that puff and slash, but the end result is lovely - he looks the perfect orcish brute with a sense of style!

    1. Puff n slash is a time consuming project but the swagger is a worthy reward I guess !

  2. Someone should get the fancy ork a pair of loafers! Love the cod piece. He fits surprisingly well inside his company of puff n slash. Great paint as always.

  3. Very nice indeed. I like his face especially. I think I've got that bloke with the billhook somewhere...

  4. I like it very much, I prefer my orcs smaller but it is a nicely sculpted figure.

    1. I do fancy smaller orcs as well but the occasional monster is acceptable

  5. He looks classy! As usual, your scheme has the perfect balance of colours, it strikes me how well it works on humans, an ogre... and even an orc!
