I'm keeping the Inq28 ball rolling for a challenge at my FLGS so here's the second member of my inquisitorial retinue. This time we have Sister Smierć.
Smierć has been Greyfax' bodyguard for a while and duty and loyalty have always been anchor values for her. She got her head cut off by the Slaanesh champion of a cult they were trying to destroy and the medics saw fitting to encase here undamaged brains into a servo skull made from the remnants of the founding holy sister of her sisterhood . Seeing how she was ready to serve the Emperor as soon as she was plugged, Greyfax got the servo-skull attached to Smierć's still fresh body.
Since then, here silent dedication have been both a formidable asset to Greyfax and a source of fright to her opponents...
You might have recognised One of St Celestine's angel model here and you are right. Flying models are not exactly to my taste but I really liked the pose and dynamism of her so I just removed all the flying bits and made her dash towards her opponent.
Painting wise, I'e stuck to my Blueshitsu palette to tie her with Greyfax. It's quite funny to see that despite several common points both armours differ significantly. They were painted at the same time and yet they really look different.
I have to say I'm quite satisfied by the way the skull looks since I'm always unhappy with how bones look.
Her she is with her boss, ready to cleanse this filthy world from everything impure disgracing it. It's a 100% female band so far which is kind of rare and might not stay that way for long but I do like to have the 2 main characters of my band to be women (sort of).
I should have more of the retinue coming soon enough, don't know who yet, don't know when yet, they'll just appear at some point...
An amazing duo!
ReplyDeleteCheers, that's a third done and from now on, things won't be as graceful...
DeleteNice one JB, she looks really dynamic and is very cool. I love the idea behind the conversion too - grim and dark indeed!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, she had a normal head at first but only made sense after the swap !
DeleteUtterly spellbinding! <3
ReplyDeleteCheers Becca !
DeleteLovely job; Borg like in the clean lines and grisly detail.
ReplyDeleteCheers !
DeleteInteresting choice of a name;) (Death in Polish)
ReplyDeleteI'm part Polish so it had a bit of appeal to me ^^
DeleteWelcome fellow Polish then;) Even a part Polish;)
DeleteThey look great. Very nice work :)
ReplyDeleteThere's more coming, thanks !
DeleteYou do amazing work dawg!
ReplyDeleteI aim to please. ;)
DeleteCheers bud
Like the colour selection on the cloak! Unusual and really work.
ReplyDeleteBlue and orange have always been a combo I like tbh, I think it works well with black here.
Deletethanks !
That's a very clever re-purposing of the flying model. I might have to take another look at that set now!
ReplyDeleteThe set sure has a lot of potential, even the Magos could be turned into something manageable unlike what it is now !
DeleteThats class!!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate ;)
DeleteHaha, the background is terrific; yes, she looks kinda skinny :D
ReplyDeleteCool idea and nice execution, you are really making the most of these minis!!
Honestly, the pose and details are all there to begin with, they've been enjoyable beyond what I initially thought.
DeleteVery sweet back story Jean :P
ReplyDeleteJob's a good'n :)
A simple one really but sometimes simplicity is fine isn't it ?
DeleteCheers !
Another hone run for the ladies if the inquisition ;) the blue the red the fort , superb contrasting and if course another brilliant paint job. I like the thought of it being and all female group. It's not really been that easy to create one with characters in plastic until now .
ReplyDeleteWell thank you, honestly the whole female band stops at that point since th enext 4 models will be males (at least 2 of them clearly are) but 2 girls at the top is a start isn't it ? ^^
DeleteGreat work. As other have mentioned the blue and orange is sublime, and your conversions help to make this figure really shine.
ReplyDeleteAside, is she very tall? Hard to tell against the tall greyfax, but it seems like she would not fit with the older sisters of battle figures.
She's definitely taller than Greyfax who's quite small to begin with actually, The extended pose might alter our perception but unfortunately I don't have any old sister to compare her to.
DeleteCheers !
This servo-sister looks very Grim. And dark.
ReplyDeleteNot a coincidence.
The intention pointed this way indeed. ^^
DeleteCheers !
I love how you made the dull greys work by adding that beautiful light blue hues. Top notch work!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I simply love blue and how you can basically have some everywhere !
DeleteServiteur,
Asslessman - she looks magnificent. So many great details. For example, I really love the dirt on her cape. It gives her a great sense of grit.
ReplyDeleteWell thanks ! I'm trying to keep the sam vibe for all the members of the band !
