Mire Kelpies and tokens - Warhammer Quest Darkwater

Hey everyone !
Following the heroes I painted for Darkwater, here are the villains I need to play the tutorial before we can move onto the main quest !
The Mire Kelpies are weird little elementals of mud or something (I have to confess I haven't read much into the lore yet, in my mind, I'm just thinking about water horse demons from traditional folklore). Given the Nurgley theme of the game, I first wanted to make them mudy and brown but it would have looked too much like a Bristol chart entry so opted for some greens, bone colours and traces of blood to make it all creepy.

Now the tokens in the game are particularly inspiring and small models like this are always such a joy to paint !
They're no nurglings but still totes adorbz.

I'll be painting the beastmen and shaman next to get a game soon enough I hope !

Happy painting to you all !

  1. They're great. The minis are very inspiring and your paint is perfecr : not too daek, wish nice colour touches but nit too bright to keep it swampy and disturbing.

    1. The sculpts honestly open several ways to interpret them so I wanted them to make sense
