Gras doux - A fresh new old dwarf

After yesterday's post about the first sculpt of 2 from my friends, I've decided to finish another sculpt that was handed to me by his creator Mandrin (check out his Painting videos in french).
You might remember we met some time ago during our french Oldhammer event in Lyon.

Well Mandrin has sculpted his first sculpt and given his painting level and the fact he's able to sculpt a full figure, I think we old farts have to pay attention to the youngsters coming behind us...

I've opted for a simple paintjob since the model doesn't have much to mess around with. I find pretty funny Mandrin opted for a style older than he is but I have to say he got it right straight away !

Despite the model being designed as a test, it's proven to be popular enough to make people want a copy and Bruno over at Vialudibunda has offered to have it moulded and cast.
You can grab a copy o him HERE and look for some of the very tasty oldschool models around (I have plans for those undead and the goblins have been in progress for a year now...).

Amongst many other things (hobby wise) I'll have to think about how I use my remaining 2 painting weeks before the winter holidays... Huum Christmas...

Sorry I have the mind of a 12 year old. This made me laugh so much. Just for the record I always try to pay attention to things like this ;0)

    1. Cheers, it definitely is a promising start, I don't think I'd get anywhere this with my first attempt honestly.

  5. That's a cute little sculpt! He reminds me a little (in pose) of the Halfling Blood Bowl star player Puggy Baconbreath - all compact and poised for action! Lovely paint as ever :)
