The other night, a couple of the WIPsters and friends gathered for a little video chat painting session with the silly idea to paint a model in a single session with the most horrible brush of their collection.

Painting a model in an hour and a half or so with a worn out brush while drinking and chatting with friends is an experience I actually recommend. ^^
Just take a look at the shape of the brush before and after, 98% of my painting time was actually used trying to make a point or an edge with the bristle.
So what did I gain from painting a model I didn't want to paint in the first place with stupid constraints ? Well a good evening with the most pleasant guys for once. Having such constraints also meant we had to think things differently. With a shitty brush, you have to get straight to the point and just can't afford blending or doing fancy work. If I was to paint with a normal brush the way I did with this one, I would save A LOT of time and would still get a very reasonable tabletop standard.
That's definitely something to keep in mind in case of ambitious projects in the future.

The company definitely helped bear the condition of the brush. ^^
DeleteThat looks great despite the circumstances. I say the next challenge must involve tying your hands to your back. Take that! But then you will go ahead and paint another great piece anyway. I'm so jealous :)
