Rein and Raus - Blackstone Fortress

Hey all, so I recently got a box of the new Warhammer Quest : Darkwater like many I guess but that triggered a wave of guilt from the few models I had left unpainted for Blackstne Fortress. Since I'm easily influencable, I decided to just get them out and finally finish 100% of the heroes and later do the last 3 marines I needed to complete the whole set (and hopefully play some games)

So here are Rein and Raus (not sure yet who's who yet). Painting wise they were relatively easy and straightforward and it got me to notice plenty of fun details

It feels odd to have that sub goal achieved especially when I least expected to but every little victory is worth it ! Just 3 chaos marines and I can call this project done (and move onto the supplements lol)

  1. Very nice! I like that desaturated green/bone colour that you use a lot. It's like a signature colour. The heroes really do look as if they should be working together.

    1. That would be Prince August stone grey, it is definitely a staple of mine along Prince August German grey , I use those instead of pure white and pure black (which are only used for very specific parts), I also use a lot of greys between colour sections and since I also lighten up some colours with bone or light greys, this gives the desaturated tone that runs throughout my work. Reds are the main exception to this and one of the very few colours I use saturated.
      Thanks !

  3. Salutations ^^

  4. As with all the other BF characters you've painted up, these are also super inspiring for when I eventually tackle my own BF set - really nicely done JB. Been a bit since I've even looked at all these sculpts, so I completely forgot just how much there is to paint on them!

    1. Thanks, I think they hit the very sweet spot of just enough detail to be interesting without being too difficult, I've had immense fun with all the models, even those I asn't super into at first. This is GW at their best imo. I hope you get as much fun on yours !
