Fantasy adventurer scout

Hey all, a quick and easy one this time, just a palette cleanser to remind me howfun and pleasant those old citadel models are, after painting bulks or big models, this one felt so refreshing !

So if you're familiar with the model (I admit I wasn't until it got into my hands ), this is a scout from teh fantasy adventurers range.

Picture from Solegends

I couldn't help but change it a bit to make her a little special, nothing spectacular but just enough to make her a little wilder

Those old metal models paint themselves, I just chose neutral colours, something not to eye catching for a scout without making her too invisible in case I ever play her.

I usually try and thin of the other charaters my heroes can meet and the stories start immediately !

Yeah, I know you're evil and all, but err... the smell...

Here you can see her with other adventurers I've had to play, it's quite nice to sometimes come back to understated caracters who aren't all over the top and hence more relatable. Damn, I sound like a guy who's about to paint many more now...

Anyway, hope you liked it and happy painting to you !

  1. wow, I love the character in these old minis. They just look so much better than the modern plastic ones that seem to need loads of detail to achieve the same wow factor as these simpler models

    1. They're a completely different thing for me, both have their merits but I find old lead relaxing and "comfy", for RPG characters, I also love how relatable they are

  2. Looks like an Aly Morrison sculpt! Perhaps she could be the start of a Rangers of Shadow Deep party?

    1. Could be, I would be tempted to say one of the Perrys because of the face, she would be perfect for RoSD indeed !

  3. Oh, I didn't remember the mini, but what a lovely job you've done here. The green stuff fringe is a total win!

  4. I really like these simpler models: they're easier to look at than a lot of modern miniatures. Really nice paint job too. I like her wary expression!

    1. They definitely are more to the point while still having many little surprises when you come to paint them, that's what I like the most about them.

    1. Pareil, on croit être calé et il reste des figs sur lesquelles on s'est pas attardé malgré 350 lectures des catalogues

  6. Oh, this is great - what beautiful, subtle painting on a fantastic sculpt. The tiny conversion really makes the mini pop, too.

    1. Thanks, It's really made me want to find others like her ! I reckon there are tons of models I've overlooked, not seeing the true potential from the catalogue pages
