Wilson Ochtar - Octopus extraordinaire

Everything happens for a reason, even the most stupid ones (often the most stupid ones). It's been over a year now my WIPster friends and I have had the excellent Wilson in mind. You just cannot imagine the surprise we had when GW decided to release the Idoneth Deepkin and amongst them no other than our favourite invertebrate !

Now everything started from this cover :

Wilson has lived many tales through our keyboards and even through our pens like these examplee our excellent Chris AKA Antipixi did :

No doubt Wilson's tale will get him to meet the most formidable opponents and friends and live the the most breath taking adventures. After all, his secret drem is to become the best Hussar Octopus in the world !

So far, his adventures have taken him to get himself between 2 rival bands in the underhive :

Where he had a brief passion that ended tragically...

Well helloooo !
And he even got to face one of Earth's most dreaded martial artists because of a,n unfortunate misunderstanding.

"Leave Nicola alooooone !"
Anyway, I'm very pleased to see Wilson got the audience and model it deserved, I hop GW continue this way. Big thumb up guys !

  3. Of all the octopodidae I have ever known, he is the Hussariest.

  4. I'm delighted to see Wilson in miniature form. It's great to see GW responding to their customer base. What's next? A reverse centaur?

    1. It just has to be. Now I think about it, it looks like they might have to come up with pretty offensive models to keep up with our ideas...

  8. Great fun! It's also quite surprising how well the ochtar model works on its own -- looks like it would make a really cool Xenos character for INQ28.

  10. Fun concept, great pics. Kudos for using that old Future Warriors mini in the last pic. I acquired a few of them back in the '90s, including that woman, to use with Necromunda (or as civilians or whatnot) but never painted mine. Looks like she should have learned not to triffle with Wilson!

    1. The model depicts him as he was before getting it along his full status (Episodes 1 to 7 and 13).

  12. How fun! How hard was it to separate the useless elf from him?

    1. Not very, just had to run a hobby knife along the tentacle in the back in several gentle moves to avoid warping it.

  19. I love this. When I first saw the image of him fighting the fudgy Catachan the barcode on the Necromunda box in the background it made me think the entire image was actually the back cover of a White Dwarf. Took a minute to realise it was no that esteemed hobby organ publishing this hatstand concept, but a photo of your recent game.

  20. Brilliant! Was any converting involved in getting rid of the stupid elf or are they essentially separate?

    2. hyper what!? What sorcery do you speak of?

Clicking on links is beneath me, ploughing through a massive backlog of posts drained my lifeforce to the point of dehydration. Can you just not use links in the future please? Be more considerate god damn it!
