Trooper and Magus - Genestealer hybrids

Following my last post about the limited edition hybrids, here's a couple of new models from a bigger set. If you are wondering about what these sculpts are, well, they're brand new and sculpted by Bob "Patriarch" Olley. I cannot tell you all about it for now but believe me there are some very very nice models in this project, definitely must haves for any old school enthusiast and Hybrid lover.

Of course those aren't specifically made to be genestealer hybrids, they'll be perfectly good to represent mutants of all sorts but they're serving the purpose more than well enough here. ^^

Coming soon, I'll have a female psychic and a mutant ranger (yes, you read me well) in the same style and some even more intriguing stuff after that.

Some really cool stuff ahead if I may say. ;)

    1. He's great really, I might have gone a little too human with him, he's got potential for more inhumanity that guy

  6. Delightful JB! By the end of this you'll have the perfect cult for all eventualities. The sculpts have some really funky elements don't they - I particularly like the rear armour on the magus. Painting is sublime as usual, how did you get the inner sparkle effect on the purple globe on the staff?

    1. Cheers Jon, the purple thing is painted purple with a purple wash the zenithally highlighted to almost pink on the top. I then painted some sort of bubbles or gems in pink in a radnom manner and added a few dots of bleached bone here and there in some of the empty spaces.

    1. This one is a fave of mine too in the group, I first didn't know how it would go and thought his head would look like a dolphin but in the end, he worked more than fine !

  15. Saying that the orangey cloths are excellently painted is stating the obvious but what's not is the fact that you did an equally excellent job on the greys!!! Awesome stuff yet again! :)
