Mordheim Campaign Round 5 : LAW VERSUS CHAOS !!!

Alright, it only was normal to end this campaign by facing the chaos band ! I don't know if it was a fluke or a deliberate choice from the GM but it was brilliant and fitting !
Thought the previous battle had left some of the band's members weakened, I had managed to bring the band to its natural limit (12 models) and add an ogre (would have been silly to keep money since it was the last game !
Let me do a brief recap :
Round one : The lost Prince

This time I would be facing Christophe AKA Bubu AKA Bewbs.

Round 5 : PIT OF CHAOS !

Aquila could smell the stench of chaos in this cave, he knew he had some evil to smite. Mutants, possessed and beatsmen were starting to invade the place. In their unfortune, they woke a giant spider up...

That was all the diversion the knights d'Uralex needed to leave their cover to start getting into position., They'd force the chaotics to split...

One of the groups seemed particularly threatening with a pack of beatsmen and a possessed...

Better to take the heavy hitters first, the mercenary ogre was sent first to deal with the mutants. The duel on the trunk proved to be violent.

After getting rid of the first mutant, the ogre struggled against the second one (or maybe the trunk was getting slippery).

Then after taking the 2nd mutant down, the ogre was charged by the beastmen while the knights were shooting the other chaotcs from the other side of the river.

The warhounds couldn't resist no more and 2 of them charged the cultits nearing...

They greatly underestimated the threat and they were taken down before 2 more came up, guided by the captain Aquila himself...

This game ended as a tie between Christophe and myself. It felt great to have managed to make the bands grow that much and I've really felt some perosnnalities were emerging amongst the characters.

We had hoped to be able to play one final game between us all on a large tabel but time wasn't on our side so we just kept the initial program. I think you'll agree the table would have been a spectacular one to throw 6 players on !

So that was all, a WE filled with excellent gaming, great laughs and bonding with new friends. I haven't come back empty handed and I'm eager to show you the result of what I got. It should please many of you (provided I take enough time to get on it).
Really can't wait to do another WE like this one, it really makes the trouble of painting, collecting and all so petty compared to the joys it brings !

  1. Veeery nice ! The culmination of the campaign with a duel between Law & Chaos was just perfect !
I didn't like the hex bases when I saw the painted models but seeing them in action, seems quite fitting and the bases do prove useful and classy.
    Well done !

Always nice to see some Mordheim stuff like this !

  3. Reading your reports makes me think too hex bases are ideal for Mordheim. Otherwise great looking chaos warband. Your Ogre was pretty good at killing people! Mine never did such amount of damage because of its combat skill of 3 ^^

    1. To be honest, the ogre wasn't that good, it's just teh combats took ages ! with their low WS, noone was ever landing a blow so we came to call that a Mr Freeze combat like if they were hitting each other with ice-creams...
It was great fun though and it kept the tension high for a good while !, now you know the sordid truth...

    1. PLenty of opportunities really, we could make each band join a small army or join together, to keep the same characters but in another form... I'm up for anything anyway !
